Paulina cradled her aching head in her hands,weeping softly and trying to make sense of her troubled life.
She once had so much going on for her:great looks,a promising career,supportive friends and a sincere faith in God. then she met Alan.He was everything she'd ever wanted in a guy.She didn't tell her christian friends when Alan suggested that they move in together, she felt they wouldn't understand.All that mattered was being with Alan, she was sure their relationship would last.
Sadly,it didn't. Paulina drifted away from her friends and God. And after she and Alan split up,she wondered through several more relationships and religions in a futile search to find meaning in life.
What is the meaning of life?
The conclusion of Paulina and many others is the same as the teachers in Ecclesiastes: "Everything is meaningless" WE ONLY FIND LIFE--& MEANING --IN RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD.
King Solomon experienced the tragic consequences meaninglessness when he turned his back on God (see 1kings 11).
The book of Ecclesiastes is believed to be his picture of the empty search for meaning in life when God is just a distant memory.
